Northwest Iowa Community College, abbreviated as NICC, is situated in Sheldon, Iowa. The college was established in 1966 as a pilot program. It was sponsored by the Department of Education in cooperation with the local high schools. The college offers associate’s, and bachelor’s degrees, certificate courses, diplomas, as well as online study programs in various fields of study. Students can choose from academic programs in arts, science, computers, business, manufacturing, electronics, and automation.

Northwest Iowa Community College offers extensive financial assistance to the students. The eligible students can apply for financial aid and scholarships from the NICC foundation. Hope Scholarship, Iowa Workforce Investment Act, and Veterans Educational Benefits are some of the financial aid programs at NICC. The college also has a center for career counseling and guidance.
