Northwestern University is a private research university situated in Evanston, Illinois and downtown Chicago. The main campus of Northwestern University comprises 240 acres of land in Evanston along the shores of Lake Michigan. Most of Northwestern University’s professional schools are located in the neighborhood of downtown Chicago. They are the following:

The athletics teams of NU are nicknamed the Wildcats. Northwestern University has a number of intercollegiate athletics teams. It also consists of a number of club sports.
