Founded in 1997, the school offers two campus locations in Syracuse and Rochester. OSTM offers a number of different training options, including accelerated and part-time study. Among other areas, students acquire skills and training in Swedish massage, Eastern massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage, energy techniques, chair massage, anatomy & physiology, business, and hygiene. OSTM awards graduates diplomas upon program completion.
The Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
All staff members at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage have been carefully selected based on their professional experience and unique teaching style. Instructors are licensed practitioners who bring years of practical industry and business experience to their classrooms. A combination of classroom learning and hands-on training is used to provide students with the knowledge and skills that they need to begin their careers.
OSTM is a commuter school and does not provide on-campus housing for its students. However, the school can provide recommendations for local housing upon request. Depending upon the learning track chosen, programs can be completed in 6, 12, or 15 months. A reduced course-load option is also available for students wishing to take only 2 classes at a time. OSTM's clinical facilities provide students with an opportunity to practice their skills on real clients. Campus activities include pizza parties, costume parties, spring flings, and sundae gatherings. Career services, tutoring, and study skills classes are also available.
