Peninsula College was established in 1961 after the local citizens urged to have a college where they could continue their education. The main campus has over 20 buildings and is spread across an area of more than 70 acres. It consists of well designed classrooms, computer labs, a Microsoft training center, library, a theatre, and a student services center. Peninsula College enrolls more than 7,500 students annually. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.
Peninsula College’s athletics department fields several men’s and women’s sports teams. The teams participate in sports like basketball, softball, and soccer. They are nicknamed as the Pirates and they compete in various intercollegiate sports.
