Penn Foster High School, headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is a distance education high school whose program is available completely online. The high school is part of the Penn Foster family of online schools. Penn Foster traces its history back to 1890, when it was originally founded as the International Correspondence School (ICS). In addition to Penn Foster High School, the system also includes Penn Foster College and Penn Foster Career School. Penn Foster High School students can earn a high school diploma or take individual courses completely at home and on their own timetable.
Penn Foster High School is accredited for grades nine through adult by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC).

Penn Foster High School is a completely online school which does not have a physical campus location. Students are not constrained by a set class schedule, and therefore are able to work at their own pace and study when and where it's most convenient. The program curriculum requires the completion of 16.5 core credits and five elective credits prior to graduation. Students learn through the use of online videos and textbooks. Students receive a customized study plan that provides daily guides on what work should be completed to keep them on track to accomplish their stated goals. Penn Foster High School also provides students access to the Career Cruising online career services program.
