Piedmont Virginia Community College, or PVCC, was chartered in 1972. It is a 2-year post-secondary college located in Albemarle County, Virginia. PVCC is a part of the Virginia Community College System and offers enrollment to more than 2,000 students every year.

Piedmont Virginia Community College offers a large number of degrees and certificate programs in various areas of study. Students are awarded associate’s degrees in arts, science, and applied science. Certificate courses in business and office-administrative support technology, and surgical technology are also available at PVCC. In addition, career studies certificate programs are provided for the student's benefit.

Piedmont Virginia Community College sponsors a number of students clubs and organizations. Among the honor societies is Phi Theta Kappa. The other student organizations include the Art Club, the Black Student Alliance, the Dance Club, the Engineering Club, the International Club, the Japanese Club, the Music Club, the Poetry Club, the Philosophers Club, the Ultimate Frisbee Club, the Volleyball Club, and the Pottery Club.
