The Pima Medical Institute was established in January, 1972 by Richard and JoAnn Luebke. The institute originally just operated a campus in Tucson, Arizona, but has established ten other campuses across New Mexico, Colorado, California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington and Texas. The Mesa, Arizona campus was established in 1986.
The Pima Medical Institute-Mesa offers Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Occupational Science degree programs. In addition, a large number of certificate programs are also available. Students can choose from courses in administrative billing and coding, nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy technology, massage therapy, radiography, and phlebotomy technology.
