The main campus is located in Winter Haven while a second campus is situated in Lakeland. The latter was established in 1988. There are more than 15,000 students enrolled here, and more than 100 full-time faculty members. Polk Community College offers education in arts and humanities, communication and business, family and consumer science, health and medical services, and technical courses.

Among the notable alumni of Polk Community College are Tom Mims, a former member of the Florida House of Representatives, and Lorenzo Williams a former NBA player.
