Quinnipiac University was established in 1929 as a private, nonsectarian, coeducational university. The University offers enrollment to more than 5,000 undergraduates and over 2,000 postgraduate students. It is comprised of 7 schools and colleges:

The Quinnipiac University offers more than 50 undergraduate and over 20 graduate degrees, and several other professional programs. It also has a particularly well-known journalism program.

The athletics teams of Quinnipiac University are known as the Bobcats, and the official colors are blue and gold. The sports played by the teams include baseball, basketball, cross-country, track, golf, ice and field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, softball, and tennis.
