Ranger College, RC, was officially founded in 1925 and began offering classesoin September 13, 1926. Located on 50 acres in Ranger, Texas, RC is among the oldest continually operating public colleges in Texas.
Ranger College offers Associate of Applied Science degrees, as well as certificate programs of study. A number of workforce education courses are also available. Students can choose from courses in computer information technology, mathematics, welding technology, cosmetology, office technology, and vocational nursing.
The athletics department of Ranger College fields teams in baseball, basketball, golf, rodeo, softball, soccer, and volleyball. The teams are nicknamed the Rangers, and they compete in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, and the National Junior College Athletic Association. RC's football and rodeo teams have won national championships in recent years.
