Overview of The Refrigeration School, Inc.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1965 to meet the growing need for high quality education and training of air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. Started by family members with backgrounds in refrigeration and air conditioning, RSI has grown through the years and has earned an excellent reputation for providing students with the best possible hands-on technical training they need to succeed in the HVAC industry.
Full-time students may take little as three months or as long as 13 months to complete their program, depending on their educational goals. Part-time students attending night classes will have longer course lengths.

Areas of Study
The Refrigeration School, Inc. offers an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering. The school also offers two diploma programs: Electrical Technologies; and Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technologies. The Electrical Technologies program prepares students for entry level positions as new construction and maintenance electricians in the electrical industry.
The Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technologies program trains students for entry level positions as service and maintenance technicians in the fields of air conditioning (both heating and cooling) and refrigeration.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. Admissions
Applicants are encouraged to contact (and/or schedule an interview with) an admissions representative, who can helping them decide if RSI is the right place for them. A follow-up visit to the school is a good opportunity for the applicant to tour the school's facilities and see what the classroom environment is like. The admissions rep will assist with all required paperwork and forms to complete the enrollment process.

RSI's highly-qualified faculty members care about student progress and success. Instructors employ a combination of lecture and shop classes with a major emphasis on "hands-on" training.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. Student Body
Enrollment as of 2006 was 355 students, almost evenly split between those studying full-time and part-time. The overwhelming preponderance of the student population is male.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. Student Life
The RSI campus is easily accessible from all parts of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Campus facilities include two buildings with 21,000 square feet of classroom, lab, and support service venues. An additional 5,400 square feet of outdoor shop area brings the total to over 26,000 square feet of training facilities.
