Rutgers University New Brunswick is the largest campus of Rutgers University, New Jersey's public university system. It is predominantly located in the city of New Brunswick and the Piscataway Township. Established November 10, 1766, Rutgers is one of the oldest universities in the United States.
The school is subdivided into smaller campuses which include College Avenue, Cook/ Douglass, Busch, and Livingston. These campuses include more than 15 undergraduate, graduate and professional schools. Every campus at Rutgers has its own student center, convenience stores, libraries, and dining halls.
The Daily Targum is the official and largest student paper at Rutgers University and The Rutgers Centurion is the monthly conservative magazine. The sports teams of Rutgers are nicknamed the Scarlet Knights.

The most common major fields study at the school include mathematics, engineering, science, media, and liberal arts.
Rutgers does not admit all applicants. The middle range of verbal SAT scores in 2007-2008 was 520 to 630 for students at the school. While math SAT scores among applicants varied, those accepted commonly had scores between 550 and 670.
