Founded in 1916, Sacramento City College, also referred to as SCC, is a two-year community college located in Sacramento, California. It is part of the Los Rios Community College District and is the seventh oldest public community college in California. The college enrolls more than 22,000 students every term. SCC offers a wide variety of degrees, programs and certificates in diverse fields of study.
"The Express" is the student-run newspaper. The sports teams of SCC are known as the Panthers. Alumni of the college include Michael James Adams, aviator and NASA astronaut; Donnell Alexander, journalist and author of "Ghetto Celebrity"; and Kurt Edward Fishback, photographer.
