Saint Francis University, also known as SFU, was established in 1847, and is a co-educational Catholic university of liberal arts located in Loretto, Pennsylvania. The campus of the university is spread across an area of 600 acres. The university offers various graduate and undergraduate programs. Several continuing education programs are also provided at SFU.
SFU’s athletics department sponsors more than 20 varsity teams. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The teams are nicknamed as Red Flash. They participate in sports including basketball, field hockey, cross country, swimming, and track & field. Some of the notable alumni of SFU are Charles M. Schwab, Industrialist; Maurice Stokes, Basketball player; and Robert Conway, Vice Admiral United States Navy.
