It is located in Standish, Maine, United States, and was founded by the Portland Regional Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. Saint Joseph’s College-Standish fields both men's and women's sports teams. The teams are known as the Monks. The men's teams participate in sports such as basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, golf, and cross country. The women's teams compete in softball, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, and cross country. The college's students publish a literary magazine and a newspaper called the "Fortitudo et Specs."
