Saint Mary's College of California, or SMC of California, was established in 1863 and is located in Moraga, California. The college was formerly a diocesan college for boys. SMC of California is noted for its business program, liberal arts education, and nursing program. It offers educational programs through the following schools:

Saint Mary's College of California's sports teams are nicknamed Gaels. In the past, the college was distinguished for its American football team. Today, it is admired for its baseball, basketball, and women's volleyball teams. The mascot is called Gael Force One.
