The college is spread over an area of more than 150 acres. Students are offered degrees and certificate programs in a range of subjects including business, engineering, health sciences, and social services.

The athletic teams of Sandhills Community College are known as the Flyers. Male students participate in sports such as basketball, baseball, and golf. Female students participate in golf, softball, and volleyball. Various student clubs and organizations are available on campus including the Hospitality Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Rotaract, Sandhills Oasis, and Student Government Association.
