Santa Barbara City College, or SBCC, is a two-year community college founded in 1909. The campus covers 74 acres. SBCC offers associate degrees in English, social sciences, computer science, engineering, physics, and occupational and technological training. The college enrolls more than 15,000 students.

The Channels is the student-run newspaper of Santa Barbara City College. Some of the alumni of the college have gone on to become famous personalities including figures like Eion Bailey, American actor; Ozzy Lusth, of Survivor: Cook Islands and Survivor: Micronesia; and Airin Older, bassist of Sugarcult.

SBCC offers more than 15 sports for men and women. The sports teams are nicknamed the Vaqueros.
