Santa Barbara City College, or SBCC, is a two-year community college founded in 1909. The campus covers 74 acres. The Channels is the student-run newspaper of Santa Barbara City College. Some of the alumni of the college have gone on to become famous personalities including figures like Eion Bailey, American actor; Ozzy Lusth, of Survivor: Cook Islands and Survivor: Micronesia; and Airin Older, bassist of Sugarcult.
SBCC offers more than 15 sports for men and women. The sports teams are nicknamed the Vaqueros.
