Shawnee State University, also referred to as SSU, is located in Portsmouth, Ohio, United States. SSU was established in the year 1986. The university campus is spread across an area of more than 50 acres. It offers over 80 degrees and certificate programs in several areas including accounting, business, nursing, international relations, and teacher education. The university has the following colleges under it:

Shawnee State University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The students of the university are involved in sports such as soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, golf, cross country, and tennis. The alumni of the university boasts of eminent figures like Ted Strickland, governor of the State of Ohio; Paul Yost, the most famous professor of Shawnee State; and Robin Hagen Smith, the women’s basketball coach at the university.
