Sierra College, a California community college, has its main campus located in Rocklin, California. The campus covers 300 acres and the college also has a campus in Grass Valley in the neighboring Nevada County, a campus center in Truckee, and a campus center in Roseville. Sierra College was officially established in 1936. Today the college offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in various fields of study. These are taught by over 700 full and part-time faculty members.
Some of the notable alumni of the college are Elmo Daley, author of "Islands of My Inland Seas"; Hans Ostrom, writer and professor; Heather Rene Smith, Playboy playmate of the February 2007; and James LeVoy Sorenson, inventor and entrepreneur.
Sierra College’s sports teams are nicknamed the Wolverines.
