South Baylo University, SBU, was established in 1977. It was originally located in Los Angeles, and comprised of the School of Business Administration, and the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In 1982, the university was relocated to Garden Grove, and in 1994, it moved into its present campus in Anaheim, California. The two schools separated in 1997, and SBU currently has under it the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
South Baylo University offers master's, and doctorate degrees, as well as certificate programs of study. These courses focus on classical internal medicine, herbology, acupuncture therapy, and medical biology.
SBU supports on-campus organizations like the Chinese Student Council, English Student Council, and Korean Student Council. In addition to Federal grants, loans, work study programs, and Veteran's Benefits, the university also awards deserving candidates the Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Clinic Excellence Scholarship Award, the Special Scholarship Award, the Student Council Scholarship Award, the Alumni Association Scholarship Award, and the President Scholarship Award.
