South Texas College was established in 1993 as a public community college in McAllen, Texas. The college awards a number of bachelors and associates degrees in applied technology, applied science, and arts and science. There are over 15,000 students enrolled at this college, and more than 1,500 faculty and staff members. South Texas College has 5 separate campuses:

  • Pecan Campus (main)
  • Mid-Valley Campus
  • Ramiro R. Casso Nursing & Allied Health Campus
  • Starr County Campus
  • Technology Campus

South Texas College also offers dual enrollment opportunities whereby high school students can simultaneously undergo college courses. There are also several business and industry training, and continuing and professional education programs on offer.
