Southeastern Louisiana University was established in 1925 and is a public university situated in Hammond, Louisiana. The university has nearly 17,000 students enrolled in various masters, baccalaureat, and associate degree courses and programs. The university has five colleges under it:

The university’s official mascot is Roomie the Lion, and the sports teams go by the name Lions. The teams participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I in the Southland Conference. They wear the official colors of purple and green.
