The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. Southern Adventist University's student body has an impressive number of international students.

Southern Adventist University participate in a wide variety of intramural sports. The sports teams compete in sports such as basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, and softball. The university operates a student-run radio station known as WSMC-FM. The campus hosts several clubs and organizations based on the varied interests of the students. There are special clubs that assist foreign students with admission into the university.
