Southern State Community College, also known as SSCC, was established in 1975. It was initially named the Southern State General and Technical College, and was rechristened Southern State Community College in the year 1977. This two-year college is located in Ohio. The academic programs include both technical and transfer programs. Associate’s degrees are offered in streams including applied science and applied business. Apart from these, several certificate programs in Data Information Processing, Medical Transcription, and Pharmacy Technician are offered. The college also offers courses though distance learning programs.
Southern State Community College sponsors several men’s and women’s athletics teams that participate in basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and basketball. The teams compete in the National Conference of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, and the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference.
