Southside Virginia Community College is one of the 23 schools in the Virginia Community College System. It was founded in 1970. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

SVCC operates two main campuses, the Christanna Campus and the Daniel Campus. It also operates several off-site campuses and offers an array of online courses to its students. SVCC's athletics department fields a large number of sports teams for both men and women.
