Southwest Tennessee Community College is a community college run by the Tennessee Board of Regents in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The college is a result of a 2001 merger between two institutions, the former Shelby State Community College and the former State Technical Institute at Memphis (STIM).
Southwest is the largest community college operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the only one with a predominantly black student body. The college offers various degrees and certificates in diverse areas of study.
The college maintains collegiate sports teams (men’s and women’s) that participate in various sports such as basketball, baseball, softball, and cheerleading. The sports teams are known as the Saluqis.
