Southwestern Michigan College, also referred to as SMC, is located in Dowagiac, Michigan, United States. It was founded in the year 1964, and classes began in 1966. SMC is a member unit of the American Association of Community Colleges. Students are offered degrees and certificate programs in the fields of mathematics, nursing, business, and communications, among others. Online courses are also offered to outstation students. The academic divisions of the college are:

Southwestern Michigan College's students participate in a wide variety of sports such as flag football, softball, basketball, dodge ball, soccer, golf, and indoor soccer. The college is also home to numerous student clubs and organizations including the Christian Bible Study, Green Club, International Student Club, Music Club, and Phi Theta Kappa.
