Overview

Spencerian College is a network of vocational schools that focus on providing hands-on skills training for careers in allied health professions. Founded as a business school in 1892 by Enos Spencer, the school has changed its educational focus to meet the needs of its communities. The college has two campus locations in Kentucky (Louisville and Lexington). Some areas of concentration include clinical assisting, massage therapy, limited medical radiography, medical assisting, nursing, practical nursing, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, and radiographic science administration. Diploma, certificate, associate and bachelor's degree programs are available. Not all programs are available at each location. Spencerian College is part of the Sullivan University System.

Spencerian College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.

Financial Aid is only available for the students who qualify.

Faculty

The faculty at Spencerian College are professionals and educators who are experts in their field. Instructors bring their real-world experiences to their classrooms, enabling them to impart practical knowledge and training to their students. Class sizes remain small, allowing instructors to provide students with personal attention. The "career first" curriculum allows students to focus solely on coursework that is relevant to their future careers.

Student Life

Spencerian College offers on-campus housing at both of its Kentucky campuses. The Lexington campus offers apartment living while the Louisville on-campus housing is fashioned in a residence hall style. Both campuses offer student lounges and gyms at their housing facilities. Depending on their chosen program, students have the option of graduating in as little as 6 months. The curriculum calls for both classroom learning and hands-on laboratory skills training. The Career Services Department helps students with resume creation and interview preparation. Spencerian also offers all of its graduates lifetime job placement assistance. The college makes a number of organizations and activities available for student participation.
