St. Philip's College, or SPC, is among the oldest and most diverse community colleges in the United States. It was established in the year 1898. The college operates on a semester basis and enrolls more than 10,000 credit students and over 5,000 continuing education students. SPC offers more than 60 different academic and technical degrees in a variety of disciplines. It prepares students pursuing an industrial or technical career through a certificate or associate degree program.

SPC’s Southwest Campus is a major satellite operation of the college. It plays a significant role as the primary center for technical and industrial training and education in the South Texas region.
