Stark State College of Technology is located in the Jackson Township, Ohio and is one of the state's largest technical colleges. The college also has satellite centers in Alliance, Downtown Canton, Carrollton, Navarre and Uniontown/ Hartville. The college follows an Open Door Admission Policy.
Stark Tech offers over 45 associate degrees in various areas and more than 10 1-year certificate programs. In conjunction with Kent State University, SSCT also offers associate of arts, associate of science and associate of applied business degrees. SSCT has more than 8,500 credit students and about 4,000 non-credit students every semester.
In 2006, the US Department of Education ranked Stark Tech among the top 500 fastest growing public 2-year technical colleges in the USA. SSCT has more than 30 student organizations on campus. The ‘Student Informer’ is the Stark State student newspaper.
