Areas of Study

The Basic Skin Care Training Program at Steiner Institute of Esthetics at VASOM offers graduates a certificate in skin care. The program combines theory, lab and hands-on clinical experience to help students prepare for the Virginia state licensing exam for Estheticians. Students receive a strong foundation in applied and general sciences as well as education in business, career development and training on Virginia laws and regulations. Instruction also covers European and specialty facials, hair removal, color theory, makeup artistry, body treatments, product ingredients and aromatherapy.

Training programs have been designed with the help of industry experts from across the country. Most faculty and workshop presenters are experienced educators and clinicians. They work closely with students to help them assess and meet the needs of individual clients.

Student Life
