The Steiner Institute of Esthetics at the Virginia School of Massage offers hands-on education and training in esthetics (skin care). The institute is a member of the Steiner Education Group (SEG), which has massage therapy and skin care schools nationwide. Additionally, SEG is a subsidiary of Steiner Leisure Limited who operate more than 200 spas across the world. The Steiner Institute of Esthetics at VASOM is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Students can complete the Basic Skin Care Training program in 7 ½ months of full-time study or in 10 months on a part-time basis. Upon completion, students will have met the requirements to sit for the Virginia state licensing exam.

Faculty

Student Life

The Steiner Institute of Esthetics at VASCOM is a commuter school and does not offer on-campus housing facilities. Courses include instruction in color theory, makup artistry, aroma therapy, hair removal, product ingredients, body treatments, and European and specialty facials. Basic business courses and Virginia laws and regulations are also covered. The program is 720 hours and can be completed in 7-10 months. Students gain real-world clinical experience through Steiner Institute's public clinic. The Career Services Department assists students with their job search. Steiner Leisure Limited actively recruits graduates for employment in one of their more than 200 worldwide salons and spas.
