Stephens College is a liberal arts women’s college located in Columbia, Missouri. It was founded in 1833 as the Columbia Female Academy. The college’s campus is spread over 86 acres. Stephens College is the second oldest educational establishment for females in the United States. It offers programs that lead to associate’s degrees, bachelor's degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates and master's degree in business, arts, and fine arts. The college has a separate division for graduate and continuing education.
Dance, theater and fashion are the three most popular majors of the college, which was ranked 7th for ‘Best College Theater’ by the Princeton Review in 2009. Stephens College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and also participates in the American Midwest Conference. It sponsors teams for basketball, cross country, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.
