Sul Ross State University, also known as SRSU, is located in Alpine, Texas, United States. It was established in the year 1917 as Sul Ross Normal College. SRSU was named in honor of Lawrence Sullivan Ross, former Texas governor and Civil War general. It gained university status in 1969. SRSU offers degrees through its academic schools, which are:

  • School of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences
  • School of Arts and Sciences
  • School of Professional Studies

Students of SRSU have access to a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, softball, football, volleyball, tennis, cross country, and track. There is a wide range of student clubs and organizations including the Rodeo Club, Media Club, Newman Club, and SRSU College Republicans.
