The College of Westchester (CW), located in White Plains, NY, is a career-oriented institute of higher learning focused on providing affordable education at the collegiate level. Founded in 1915, CW was formerly known as the Westchester Business Institute before changing its name in 2003. The College offers a wide variety of degree and certificate programs in the business, information technology and health services fields. Programs at CW are structured to provide students with the opportunity to earn an Associate degree in as little as 18 months or complete a certificate program in as little as 9 months.

CW faculty members are highly qualified, respected, and dedicated educators who are committed to excellence in teaching and service to students. Most instructors have advanced degrees and all have extensive business experience. CW operates a comprehensive faculty development program, which ensures that all instructors remain up-to-date in their field and utilize state-of-the-art teaching methodologies.
The College of Westchester Student Body
Approximately 1100 students attend CW. About 500 of these are full-time day students and 600 are adult students attending the school's Evening/Saturday College. The bulk of CW students come from the New York metropolitan area, although a recent student body composition included students from five states and six countries. There are nearly equal numbers of women and men enrolled and a broad mix of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds represented.
The College of Westchester Student Life
The College is situated in a beautiful five-story, 50,000-square-foot building. Academic facilities include nineteen classrooms; a library; a student life center that houses all student organizations and clubs; an academic advancement center, an open computer lab that also serves as a study center; a student lounge; and faculty offices. A commuter campus, CW has a convenient location in White Plains which affords easy access by public transportation or car. Hundreds of large and small companies are located in the area, providing excellent employment opportunities for CW graduates. The College offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities which encourage student involvement and contribute to student growth.
