The Illinois Institute of Art is located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It was established in the year 1916 and known as The Commercial Art School. It is an integral part of The Art Institutes (AI) and became part of the Art Institutes system in 1995. AI has various locations throughout the United States. This institute offers bachelor degrees and associate degrees in various fields of study including interior design, fashion, media arts, visual communication, and culinary arts. Online learning options are also available to outstation students.

Students participate in the many student clubs and organizations offered at the institute. Some of the popular organizations are the Elite student Ambassadors (ESA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Campus Crusade for Christ, Animation Club, American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), and Baking and Pastry Club.
