Overview of The Salter School
The Salter School is a Massachusetts institution of higher learning which offers career training in healthcare and business fields. The school was originally founded in 1937 as a training school for professional secretaries. Salter currently has three campuses, located in the cities of Fall River, Malden, and Tewksbury. Until 2007, the school had an additional campus in the city of Worcester, but this campus petitioned for a name change to Salter College. The Salter School is part of the Premier Education Group, which also operates the Branford Hall Career Institute in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York; the Seacoast Career School in Sanford, Maine; and the Suburban Technical School in Hempstead, New York.

The Salter School offers career-training programs in the following fields: Massage Therapy, Medical Assistant, Health Claims Specialist, and Paralegal. All four programs are available at all three campus locations, with the exception of the Paralegal program, which is not offered at the Fall River campus.

The admissions process can be started with an online request for information. The school's admissions department can also be contacted via a toll-free phone number. The department will provide all the details needed to help applicants choose the right career path and will also assist in getting them admitted.
The Salter School Faculty Quality
Instructors are chosen based on qualifications and breadth of experience in the subjects they teach. Faculty members receive training from the school to help them present course content to students in an understandable and objective way.
The Salter School Student Body
The student body reflects a mix of those preparing for new careers and those seeking to expand opportunities in existing careers. Combined, the Salter School campuses serve more than 1,000 students.
The Salter School Student Life
Salter is a commuter school and does not provide on-campus residence facilities. The school does have a proactive Career Services Department, which schedules personalized sessions with students to assist them in their search for employment. Employment information is updated and monitored on a continuing basis and Career Fairs are held regularly. Externships are offered as part of most programs, giving students the opportunity to apply their skills and gain valuable experience in a work environment before graduation.
