The University of Texas at Brownsville, or UTB, is an educational institution located in Brownsville, Texas. It is a member of the University of Texas System. It was established in the year 1991. The University of Texas at Brownsvill offers certificates, associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees in diverse areas of study. The campus is spread across an area of 524 acres.

UTB competes in the Red River Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Their official mascot is the scorpion and their sports teams are nicknamed the Scorpions. The Scorpion Women's Volleyball team was ranked 18 in the NAIA.
