Founded in 1968, Tidewater Community College, also known as TCC, is a two-year higher education institution. It is colloquially referred to as "Virginia Beach University”. It is the second largest community college in the entire Virginia Community College System and the 37th largest in the United States. TCC consists of multiple campuses in the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach.
TCC offers a wide variety of vocational and transfer-oriented degrees and certificates for the prospective students. The college also offers a variety of classes through distance delivery including telecourses, teleconference classes, and web-based online classes.
TCC’s official mascot is the storm.
