Troy University is a public university located in Troy, Alabama. It was originally founded in 1887 as "Troy Normal School". Troy University was ranked the 25th best university in the United States for international students by the Institute of International Education in 2008. Troy University’s athletic department has men’s and women’s sports teams that take part in a variety of sports. The sports teams are nicknamed the Trojans and their official mascot is T-Roy.
