The United States Coast Guard Academy is the federal military academy of the United States Coast Guard. USCGA is located in New London, Connecticut. The academy offers 4-year Bachelor of Science degrees in different subjects. After completion of the degree courses, students are commissioned as an Ensign in the U. S. Coast Guard. Majors are offered in the fields of engineering, humanities, management, mathematics and science.

The Athletic Department at USCGA offers a variety of sports and activities for its students. The academy is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III and participates in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, the New England Football Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The athletic teams of USCGA are known as the Bears.
