United States Sports Academy, which is located in Daphne, Alabama, was established in 1972 by Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich. It was created in response to the inferior performance of United States Olympic team in the Munich Games of 1972. The campus, which is home to the American Sport Art Museum and Archives or ASAMA, was established in 1984 and has a vast collection of sport art. The academy grants Bachelor of Sports Science, Master of Sports Science and Doctor of Education degrees.

The eligible students of United States Sports Academy can apply for a number of federal financial aid programs such as Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (FESOG), and Pell Grants. The academy’s library is equipped with a vast collection of print materials, circulating books, reference books, reserve books, and periodicals.
