Unity College was founded as the Unity Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1965. It was renamed Unity College in 1967. The campus is spread across 225 acres in Unity, Maine. The 2007 edition of the U.S. News & World Report placed Unity College in its list of America's Best Colleges. Students are offered associate's, and bachelor's degrees, and certificate programs of study. There are more than 20 majors and over 10 minors, as well as study abroad opportunities.
Unity College's students participate in intercollegiate sports like basketball, cross country, soccer, and volleyball. Nicknamed the Rams, the teams compete in the Yankee Small College Conference, and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The college also sponsors club sports including lacrosse, baseball, ice hockey, ultimate Frisbee, and indoor soccer.
