University of Central Oklahoma, commonly referred to as UCO, was established in the year 1890. It is a coeducational public university in Edmond, Oklahoma. The university offers enrollment to more than 15,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. It was initially founded as the Territorial Normal School and is Oklahoma’s second oldest institution of higher education.
UCO offers undergraduate degrees in humanities, forensic science, biomedical engineering, funeral services, photo journalism, business legal studies, golf management, and insurances. Students can also opt for master degrees in athletic training, forensic science, and jazz studies. There are seven colleges under this university:
The athletics teams of UCO are known as the Bronchos. The mascot is Buddy Broncho. The team colors are bronze and blue. They participate in sports such as baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, and rowing.

The school is known for its programs in media.
Central Oklahoma does not offer open admission.
The school has a tenure system for senior faculty.
