The University of Cincinnati (UC), located in Cincinnati, Ohio, was founded in 1819. The University today is the largest employer in the Cincinnati region, with an economic impact of more than $3 billion. UC’s first distance learning program dates back to 1984 when the College of Applied Science pioneered the Open Learning Fire Science program to help firefighters advance their careers. Today, the University offers numerous distance learning options including degree programs, certificates and course offerings.
