University of Houston - Downtown, often referred to as UH-Downtown or UHD, is a public university located in Houston, Texas. Established in 1974, the institution offers admission to over 10,000 students each year. UHD offers majors in business and management, security and law enforcement, and liberal arts.
University of Houston - Downtown does not have any sports programs but does supports many club sports. A number of fitness programs are offered to students to help them enhance their physical fitness. UH- Downtown has an official mascot, an alligator named “Ed-U-Gator”.
