University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign, also referred to as "U of I" or UIUC, is a public coeducational research university located in Urbana and Champaign, Illinois, United States. Originally established in 1867, the institution now grants admission to over 40,000 students every year. The school offers majors in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering.

University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign’s sports teams are known as the Fighting Illini. The official mascot was Chief Illiniwek, or 'The Chief', but this mascot was removed in 2007 due to controversies. The university offers sports programs in football, men's basketball, men's and women's tennis, and ice hockey.
