The University of Mary Washington is a coeducational, state-funded, four-year liberal arts college located in Fredricksburg, Virgnia. It was established in 1908. UMW is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. The undergraduate campus of UMW enrolls more than 4,000 students annually, and its graduate campus admits over 700 students every semester. The academic divisions of this university are:

UMW’s sports teams participate in the NCAA Division III's Capital Athletic Conference. Its teams are nicknamed the Eagles and compete in several sports like basketball, lacrosse, crew, cross country, field hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and tennis.
