The University of Maryland Baltimore County, also referred to as UMBC, is a public coeducational research university. It is located in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, within the community of Cantonsville. The school was established in the year 1966. It grants admission to over 8,000 students every year. University of Maryland Baltimore County’s sports teams are known as the UMBC Retrievers. The school's official mascot goes by the name of “True Grit”.
