The University of Missouri–Kansas City, also referred to as UMKC, is an institution of higher learning located in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. Its main campus is situated in Kansas City's Rockhill neighborhood, east of the Country Club Plaza. UMKC is a part of the University of Missouri System. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs through the following academic divisions:
UMKC's official mascot is named “Kasey Kangaroo”. Their athletics teams are known as the Kangaroos.

UMKC does not accept everyone who applies. In 2007, SAT verbal scores of half of students were 533 to 668. Three-fourths of students accepted in 2007 had SAT math scores of 548 or more.
